Nashville on Nashville

This is for all of you fans of the hit tv show ” Nashville”.

Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere of Nashville

My husband and I recently took our fourth trip to Nashville, Tn. Apparently, we love Nashville and country music.

While there we never miss the Grand Old Opry. It is always a great show with great performances.

So, this last trip we were very pleasantly surprised to find out that two of the performers at the Opry  were two of the stars on the  hit TV show Nashville. Chris Carmack who plays Willl Lexington and Aubrey Peebles who plays  Layla Grant. They were fantastic in person even better than on the show. If you ever get a chance to go to the Opry in Nashiville I would strongly encourage you to not miss it. Even if you are not a fan of country western music I know you will still enjoy the gifted artist that sing and play their music every Friday and Saturday night at the Opry. Also, do the back stage pass tour. It is great.

The television show Nashville has made the city of Nashville a real destination place. There are more people, more music, more restaurants and more country music than ever. You never know maybe when you are there Connie Britton or Hayden Panettiere will be playing. Wouldn’t that be awesome?

There are so many things to do in Nashville as well as so much music. You walk down the streets at night and there is music playing from every doorway and on every corner. You can even here some jazz or blues mixed in with the latest Country western tunes.

If you have some free time during the day there are any number of sites to explore such as:

The Hermitage estate, Home of President Andrew Jackson

Belle Meade Plantation, this plantation was a breeding stable for thoroughbred horses. Secretariat, Seabiscuit, Funny Cide are just a few that trace their lineage back to this breeding stable. They also make their own wine and have a wine tasting at the end of the tour. They have some really good wine!!

The Country Music Hall of Fame is another great attraction.

A not so well known, not to be missed attraction is Fontanel Mansion which was the home of Barbara Mandrell and her family. It is a huge log cabin built by her husband. It is now owned by two record producers that host private parties and tours there. It is great because you can touch everything and sit on the beds. No ropes to keep you off the furniture.

General Jackson Showboat is fun too. Lunch or dinner with a great show.

We have taken quite a few trips over the past few years and no matter where we are heading to  we try to make a stop in Nashville for at least a couple of days. It is the one place we go back to over and over and we are already planning our next trip there in September.

So I made myself a new wrap in a beautiful soft sweater knit in a great Navajo print to wear while we were  there in December. Of course just like the rest of the country it was unseasonably warm and I didn’t get to wear it until I got back to New York. Where it was still unseasonably warm but the two unseasonably warms are very different.

If you like this Navajo print fabric inquire about owning one of your own or have it made into any of the beautiful wraps on my website.
