I am sure a lot of you grew up in a family like mine who’s grandparents and parents lived through the “Great Depression”. As a small child I spent a lot of time with my grandmother who saved and re-used everything she could.
She would save newspapers to make doll clothes patterns. Butcher paper would become writing material, and brown paper grocery bags were recycled to into book covers.
I am blaming this up bringing on why I cannot throw away a piece of fabric that is not large enough to make a garment but, could at some point be used in combination with other fabrics to make one.
Today I want to share with you some of the garments I have created from these cast offs. They are fun to make and as I construct each one I wait with anticipation to see how each will look when it is completed.
Against my families wishes, I will probably continue to hoard my stash of fabric.
